A Timely Spin on a Cheesy Quote

I spent last Friday at college orientation with my oldest daughter. At the parents’ only meeting, they talked a lot about healthy ways to “let your kids go.” It was all somber and serious, but they ended on a light note by putting the following quote on the screen:

“If you love somebody, set them free.

If they return, they were always yours.

If they don’t, they never were.

However, if they sit in your living room, get into your stuff, eat your food, leave a huge mess around for you to clean up, use your telephone non-stop, take your money without asking, and never even noticed you set them free in the first place; you are either married to them or gave birth to them.”
