A Brief Tour of the All New INFO for Families

About six years ago, I created a blog and called it INFO for Families. I've always been a sucker for acronyms, and something about "Imperfect & Normal Families Only" stuck with me. For almost four years I posted various resources and insights for regular families like us. Sadly nobody read it. Except for my mother. Sometimes.

About two years ago, I wrote a few things that were worth reading. A tech-savvy friend helped me with a redesign. INFO developed an audience. Jenifer and I started writing more about the things we saw happening in our own family life. The audience grew.

One afternoon last November I spent about an 45 minutes writing a brief post in response to something I heard Phil Vischer of Veggie Tales fame say. I titled the post How to Raise A Pagan Kid in a Christian Home. I didn't think much of it but the thing went a little viral. 650,000 views later and we had ourselves a following - including a few practicing pagans who were ticked off that I used the word "pagan" wrong. (Shout out to my Pagan peeps!)

Fast forward 12 months and we are officially re-launching INFOforFamilies.com as a web platform for our new ministry. It's still a blog and we'll still post fresh resources often, but we have added a bunch of new stuff to communicate the heart of INFO for Families.

Take a Look Around

As you explore the new site, we encourage you to take note of the following:

Our Three Key Initiatives. Toward the top of the home page, you'll see icons that represent the three things that INFO is committed to help people do: Prepare for Marriage, Navigate a Hyper-Sexualized Culture, and Build a Strong Family.

Key Tabs Up Top. Find out ABOUT us (and maybe a bit about you), check out a variety of resources in our STORE, get the skinny on getting us to SPEAK to your group, look into our PERSONAL COACHING offerings (we now have an office in East Cobb), and watch a few of our favorite VIDEOS

A Handy Search Bar. We want you to be able to dig deep into the more than 300 posts we have backlogged in this thing. So search away. If you go back far enough to when we didn't have a real audience, you might be the first person to actually read something.

Better Share Options. At the top and bottom of every post, you'll find it very easy to share the stuff you like on social media. Key truth: we really like it when you share stuff you like on social media.

We'll be adding more content in the coming weeks, including a cool little introduction video we are working on. We think you'll dig it.

In the meantime, share the site with your friends. Encourage them to subscribe to updates. We will typically send out a post about every two weeks that will include links to fresh content and goings-on as we develop our new ministry.

Finally, let me make a request that I wish I didn't have to make: If you encounter glitches or errors on the site, please shoot me a note and tell me about it. If Apple has to fix bugs on the iPhone, you can bet we will have to fix the bugs here. Again, let me know if anything doesn't work like it's supposed to.

Have a great time exploring!!

-Barrett and Jenifer
