Could it be that romance novels have the potential to do women what porn does to men? In a great blog post I want to point you toward, Russell Moore makes a great argument for that very possibility.

While I would never presume to suggest that they can do the same damage to a soul or a marriage (porn is just too deadly), they both have the power to dramatically change our expectations of what love, sex, and marriage should be.
